Gordon Carmichael
“As with life, there is a starting point in my process, a bilateral symmetric form that is laid in one process; the initial bones become meticulously fleshed out with multi-layers of paint to cover the canvas. Next, the rich textured paint begins the last stage, a paring back to leave areas that create the biomorphic forms. These forms reveal themselves through continuity and in the final application of the process; they take on life and represent life itself.
I want to re-present my world/s as a pure and visual sensation through painting.”
